What about Zinc?

What About Zinc?
Almost everyone is deficient in zinc, particularly alcoholics; zinc reduces post-surgical healing time and profoundly strengthens the immune system; your body does not store zinc; zinc is required for the catalytic activity of approximately 100 enzymes and it plays a role in immune function, protein synthesis, wound healing, DNA synthesis, and cell division (zinc activates cells). Zinc is also required for proper sense of taste and smell and is vital for the metabolism of Vitamin A. Zinc deficiency may be a contributory factor to cancer development. A class of medications called ACE inhibitors, used to treat high blood pressure, may decrease the levels of zinc in your blood. Zinc may decrease your body’s absorption of antibiotics.
Zinc is a cell activator. Chemotherapy works on active cells (those that divide fastest). Cancer cells are very active. Also, the hair folicles are some of the most active cells in the body and that is why chemotherapy makes you lose your hair.
footnote: Dr. Arthur Furst always told us that if a cancer patient takes our Chelated Zinc before radiation therapy, the burn from the radiation will be less severe
