The fewer meals you eat, the less your body will want to burn fat. Your goal is to increase the amount (or volume) of food you eat during the day without increasing the number of calories. If you can increase the volume of food you take in, you will decrease your feelings of hunger and food cravings.

To do this, eat foods with high water, fiber, and protein content. Consuming high-volume foods will result in less calorie intake and will satisfy your body through the release of hunger hormones. Vegetables offer the most variety in terms of high volume, low fat foods. Any dark green leafy vegetable provides a lot of nutrients and volume for little calories.

Chicken Thighs with Sweet Onion Balsamic Relish

-. 2 teaspoons olive oil
• 1 lb Vidalia onions (3/8 inch square) or 1 lb some other sweet onion, cut into large dice (3/8 inch square)
• % teaspoon ground black pepper, divided
• 4 (6 ounce) skinless chicken thighs
• 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
• % teaspoon dried thyme
• 5 teaspoons balsamic vinegar, divided
• salt
• 1 tablespoon chopped parsley (optional)
1. Heat the oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat.
2. Saute onions with 1/4 teaspoon of pepper for about 5 minutes, the onions should be soft and golden.
3. Add 1/4 teaspoon pepper, chicken, oregano, and thyme to pan, and sprinkle with 4 teaspoons balsamic
4. Cover, reduce heat, and simmer 25 minutes or until chicken is done.
5. Uncover, increase heat, and cook 2 minutes or until liquid almost evaporates.
6. Stir in 1 teaspoon vinegar, and sprinkle with parsley.

However, the brands sold in convenience stores are often high in salt. If YOU’d like beef jerky to be one of your high-protein snack options, look for healthier versions in health food stores.

  • Following is another main course recipe that is high in protein. Remember to combine with lots of veggies and limited carbohydrates to maximize your fat burn.Honey Ginger Grilled Salmon
    • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
    • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
    • 1 cup reduced sodium soy sauce
    • 1 cup orange juice
    • 1/4 cup honey
    • 1 green onion, chopped
    • 1 Ibs salmon fillets

1. In a large self-closing plastic bag, combine first six ingredients; mix well.
2: Place salmon in bag and seal tightly.
3. Turn bag gently to distribute marinade.
4. Refrigerate 15 minutes or up to 30 minutes for stronger flavor.
5. Turn bag occasionally. .
6. Lightly grease grill rack.
7. Preheat grill to medium heat.
S. Remove salmon from marinade; reserve the marinade.
9. Grill 12-15 minutes per inch of thickness or until fish flakes easily with a fork.
10. Brush with reserved marinade up until the last 5 minutes of cooking time.
11. Discard leftover marinade.

In recent years, readings between 120/80 and 139189 have been labeled as prehypertension, “a warning that’ the numbers are creeping up and you need to make lifestyle modifications,” says physician Gregory Johns, a Phoenix internal-medicine specialist.  Readings of 140/90 or higher are considered high ‘blood pressure, or hypertension. (Blood pressure is measured in millimeters of mercury.)  WHY THEY MATTER: “High blood pressure is probably the biggest risk factor for stroke, the consequence) people are most concerned about,”

Johns says.  Sustained high blood pressure makes the heart work harder and can damage heart muscle, and it’s a risk factor for congestive heart failure, heart attack and peripheral artery disease.  It also can damage blood vessels in the kidneys, greatly increasing risk for kidney failure in people who also have diabetes, he says.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW: “High blood pressure is extremely common,” Johns says, “but most people have no symptoms. You have to see your doctor on a regular basis to get a blood-pressure check or you won’t know until it may be too late.”  Control blood pressure. by maintaining a healthy weight, exercising for 30 to 45 minutes four or five days a week –::enough to elevate your heart rate – and fOllowing a healthful diet, he says.

In a trial, the DASH (Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension) eating plan -low in fat and rich in fruits, vegetable .and low-fat dairy products -lowered hypertensive patients’ top blood-pressure number an average of 11.4 points and bottom number an average of 5.5 points. Lower salt intake improved results, too.  If lifestyle changes aren’t enough, your doctor may prescribe blood pressure medicine.


Less than 200. HDL (GOOD) CHOLESTEROL: 40 or higher for men, 50 or higher for women; 60 or higher is considered protective against heart disease.
LDL (BAD) CHOLESTEROL: Less than 100.
TRIGLYCERIDES: Less than 150.
RATIO: Less than 5 when the total cholesterol number is divided by the HDL number.

WHY THEY MATTER: Cholesterol and triglycerides are measured in milligrams per deciliter as part of a lipid profile to assess heart health. The NMR lipid profile measures the size and  number of  particles.  “For preventing or reversing heart disease,” Hilts says, “the most important (goal) numbers are high HDL, low triqlycerides and low LDL particles.”

WHAT YOU CAN DO: Researchers “are’ looking very hard for medicines to raise HDL cholesterol, but they haven’t got one yet,” she says. “The best way to raise it now is through exercise:” – , Take good-for-the-heart fish-oil supplements and keep blood sugar at safe levels. High blood sugar sticks to cholesterol molecules, she says, and makes them more likely to clog blood-vessel walls ..  A low-carbohydrate diet “will raise HDL’a little and lower triglycerides a lot,

” Hilts says. “And it shifts the population of your LDL from the small; dense kind,
bad, to the light, fluffy kind, which is good.”

Associates in Phoenix.  Microvascular complications involve the kidneys, eyes and peripheral nervous system; the latter sometimes leading to amputations, she says.  Microvascular’complications cause heart attacks and stroke.

WHAT YOU CAN DO: “Diet and exercise give tremendous benefits,” Mishra says.  A Diabetes Prevention Program study found that 30 minutes a day of moderate physical activity and a 5 to 10 percent weight loss reduced . the risk of developing.type 2 diabetes by 58 percent.  If more help is needed; your doctor may prescribe pills or
insulin to control glucose levels. People with diabetes can avoid complications and hospitalizations by closely monitoring their blood sugar, Mishra says.

Isagenix Essentials really is nothing more than your average, run-of-the-mill multivitamin packs which contain nutrients from synthetic and NON-human food sources. They’re long on story but short on substance. Like many of these companies, they sell consumers on the importance of nutrients BUT provide products that deliver a much inferior source than the human body wants.

Here are some examples. From the men’s and women’s version: Chromium picolinate: not a “real” form of chromium, but rather a diluted form of chromium made with salts. Grape seed extract: the nutrition is found in the flesh and skin of the grape, NOT the seeds Flax seed oil, Borage Oil and Primrose oil: NOT considered human edible oils by the USDA and many nutritional experts.

Interestingly, there is NO source provided for their omega 3 fatty acids (it doesn’t even say it’s “fish”). For all we know it could be sea cucumber or even algae!!! AND the concentration is very low. NO source is provided for the vitamin A (as beta-carotene), which means it could be dunaliella salina (pond scum), acetylene gas, or something worse.

If they’re not listing the sources for some of their nutrients on the labels, then one must assume they’re not very proud of them because if they were they’d want consumers to know how great their sources are and what better way to communicate this than by putting the info on the label – which they don’t.

My name is Merenna Morrow and I am partners with my husband Ted in building Rader and Morrow Health Concepts International into a multi-million dollar in yearly sales corporation. We are so proud to have the opportunity to share our story with you today.

When Ted and I became GNLD distributors, we had no idea where our lives were heading. We had no idea we were heading into the direction of building our very own large international cooperation by helping others to achieve their dreams and goals. Contrary to many people’s beliefs, airline pilots do not make a lot of money when they are first hired by the major carriers and Ted’s pay check was no different. Because we needed a second income, we chose to start building a GNLD, then known as Neo Life, business. But it wasn’t until we had purchased our first home, had a mortgage to pay, one 3-year old son and another on the way, that we made a decision to really build our business. It happened because we got scared.

Ted was flying international as a co-pilot and everything was going along really well when he came home unexpectedly in the middle of the night. TWA had gone on strike and Ted had been immediately furloughed; meaning his paycheck stopped until the strike was over.

We didn’t know how long he would be furloughed but we did know that the first of the month the mortgage was due, we did know that our son had to be fed, we did know we were going to have medical bills when our second son was born and we decided right then and there we were never going to be in that situation again.

At a time when several major carriers had gone bankrupt, we did not feel secure. We didn’t like being in that situation and it was time for a change.

We began working our GNLD business by building a good customer base and during this time, watching my mother’s business grow by leaps and bounds. She was making a great income, taking trips, having a lot of fun; the health of both my parents improved tremendously and we liked what we saw.

We decided right then and there we were going to build a business and no one or nothing was going to stop us. We were never ever going to be in a position of having to worry about finances again and from then on, we never looked back.

Since then, we have built a very large international business. We have had the opportunity to touch thousands of lives all over the world and we are still enjoying friendships that started through the business almost 50 years ago.
